Reiki, traditionally understood, begins with opening to something outside of the therapist and client. Taught through the lens of A Course in Miracles, Reiki begins within and becomes a collaborative partnership in the deepest meaning of the phrase.
As a student of A Course in Miracles since the late 80s, ACIM teacher since 1992, and Reiki Master-Teacher since the early 90s, I stopped teaching Reiki several years ago. Recently I was approached by a Course student who wanted to receive certification and offer Reiki in a way that allowed him to integrate his understanding Course principles with his profession as Massage Therapist.
Thus began the 'listening' that showed me how to teach those who are interested in recognizing their contribution to the world as 'body' workers while questioning the idea that the body is what needs to be healed.
Training and certification for Awakening Essence Reiki is now offered to anyone interested in learning to live and work from a level of awareness that invites them into mastery of Self while serving as collaborative partner in awakening with their clients.
Many Course students, who were already Reiki therapists, expressed concern, confusion, and disappointment about having to choose one or the other teaching because of the conflict that arose within themselves while students of both.
The Master level Awakening Essence Reiki training and certification can help those needs in conjunction with the desire of practicing Reiki therapists to reach a deeper level of healing within themselves.
